Keeping the Inner Child Alive, Happy Children’s Day
Every year in India 14th of November is celebrated with great enthusiasm as Children’s day. This day happens to be the birthday of free India’s 1st prime minister and an active member of freedom struggle, Jawaharlal Nehru. He was fond of children and likewise children adorably called him ‘Chacha Nehru’ (Uncle Nehru). This day is a celebration of his love towards children.
Chacha Nehru was fond of not only children but also roses. He drew similarity between the two by saying that children are like flower buds in a garden which need immense love, care and nurturing to be able to blossom into beautiful human beings from within.
Children are the future; they are the real strength of any society. Physically as well as mentally healthy children will only create a successful future. Unless a nation wants to be doomed in future it should mandatorily concentrate on healthy up bring of its future generation. Indian government thus has several plans under Chacha Nehru’s guidance to provide free education and motivation especially for under privileged children to taste success and equality.
On this day in whole of India schools, colleges and other institutes conduct special programs and competitions for children. Some offices celebrate by conducting ‘bring your child to work’ day. Children are treated with goodies, gifts and showered with lots of love and attention. In some schools it is a holiday for kids to enjoy.
Therefore, Children’s Day is a special day commemorating Pandit Nehru and his love for children. On this day make a child’s day by gifting it your love and time and also try to keep your inner child alive. Happy Children’s Day!!!
